About me.
After graduating with a Masters in Speech and Language Therapy in 2010, I have worked in a wide variety of adult NHS settings. This includes inpatient and outpatient hospital settings and community services in people's own homes and nursing homes.
I am currently the voice and upper airway lead for my local adult community service, which includes time in a specialist voice clinic with an ENT consultant with expertise in laryngology. Our voice therapy service offers the majority of appointments online via video call, allowing more flexibility and efficiency for patients.
In previous roles, I spent a number of years working with patients with progressive neurological conditions such as Parkinson's and Motor Neurone Disease, something which I remain passionate about. I have also worked with adult dysfluency for 15 years and completed an intensive course in ‘working with adults who stammer’ at City Lit.
I am registered with both the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
I work with a calm, empathetic and practical approach to therapy and believe in tailoring treatment to meet individual lifestyles and goals. I like to educate and inform about conditions before we work out a treatment plan. Therapy should also be about self-management in the long term, so I aim to empower you with the knowledge and skills to reach your goals going forward.
